Animal diseases pose a significant threat to livestock farmers and pet owners in Africa, causing substantial losses and impacting livelihoods. Unfortunately, the current animal health system is inadequate, leaving underserved communities struggling to access quality and affordable solutions.

Farm Alert was founded in 2019 to address this critical challenge. Our mission is to enable easy access to affordable animal health solutions in underserved communities across Africa. We are committed to tackling the following problems:

• High Cost of Animal Health Solutions: Many essential products and services are prohibitively expensive, hindering farmers' and pet owners' ability to protect their animals.
• Poor Quality or Substandard Medicine/Biologics: The prevalence of counterfeit or ineffective products further exacerbates the problem, compromising animal health and welfare.
• Broken Supply Chain and Poor Animal Health Infrastructure: The lack of a reliable distribution network and inadequate infrastructure create significant barriers to access, particularly in remote areas.
• Animal health information inaccessibility:  The lack of accessible and actionable animal health information in Africa, disempower stakeholders to make informed decisions and drive positive change.

Our Approach

At Farm Alert, we collaborate with local animal health professionals, primarily veterinarians, to build an inclusive system for sustainable animal health and disease prevention. We foster a peer-to-peer network that facilitates access to regular animal health products and veterinary services, enabling knowledge sharing and empowering communities.

Through our strategically located distribution centers, we serve over 1,000 animal health stores across Nigeria, with ambitious plans to expand to 6,000 within the next 24 months. Our current distribution centers are located in:
